You have a lot of avenues to choose from if you want to work in the media industry: videography, editing, TV, radio, event production, multi-media content creation, social media marketing, journalism, and photography. Unsure which area to focus on?

Our one-year Media Foundations certificate program will help you sample and discover each of these elements for a career in media.
In this program, you will build a solid foundation in highly transferable skills through hands-on learning in labs and our HD TV studio with industry experts, industry-standard software and equipment, project-based, experiential learning, and creative storytelling and content creation.
Media Foundations is a direct pathway to Conestoga's Journalism program sharing a common core first year. After completing Media Foundations, students may apply to Year 2 of Journalism and graduate with both a Media Foundations Ontario College Certificate and a Journalism Ontario College Diploma.
This program also offers advanced standing in related Conestoga diploma programs: Broadcasting - Television and Independent Production, Broadcast - Radio, and Esports and Event Media Production. Contact the Program Coordinator to explore specific credit transfer opportunities.
